Wilma Knies majored in art her first year and the University of Northern Colorado, then changed to Elementary Education. She taught art classes at the elementary school level.
Wilma received most of her art instruction from library books, but her best education was from Courtney Armstrong's charcoal drawing and pastel classes. Her favorite medium is pastels, but she also does watercolor. She is most inspired by color and scenery.
Wilma belongs to the Wheat Ridge Art League and has shown at the Active Adult Center and Carnation festival where she has won awards. She had two pieces in the 2015 Small Works Show in Golden.
